Hanging In There

I am doing better with the exercise and can tell that I am slowly improving on some of the exercises Kelsey is pushing me to do.  Still struggling to do some of the ones that require me to lift my rather bulbous torso off the floor.  Those are killer.  Kelsey says "Hold your stomach in while you are holding the pose".   Are you kidding me?  I am barely holding my large toosh up, yet alone worrying about the hanging stomach part.   I am not that coordinated.   But, I am holding out hope that the toro will slim down and I can do both things at once soon.
I have been able to avoid unhealthy snacks and treats, but sometimes my portions are larger than they should be.  I only lost 1/2 pound last week.  I am hanging in there knowing that I am improving my metabolism and my overall fitness.  I feel much better and more energetic on the days that I exercise.

I finally uncovered my exercise bike after months of using it for a chest of drawers.  Blake hooked it up for me and I got on it and rode away.   It was great.   I had my TV to watch and the time went quickly.   Why didn't I do this sooner?  I am hoping I am over the exercise slump.
The food part is still going well.  By my scales, I gained 1/2 lb between yesterday and today.  A little discouraging, but maybe I have built a tiny muscle that weighs more than the ugly fat it may have replaced.
We had our nutrition class this morning.   Our instructor is great.   Everyone on the team is so supportive of each other.  Thanks again for this opportunity!

3 Weeks Today

It has been 3 weeks today since we started on the journey.   It  has been great.   I am so grateful for this opportunity.
The food thing is still going well for me so far. I find that peanut butter on whole wheat toast can hold me between breakfast and lunch.  Summer is a great time for fruit and other healthy options.
I didn't do too well with my exercise last week.  The two workouts with Kelsey were great.  I can tell that I am getting a little better at the bike, treadmill and strength training.   Blake and I had been walking at the outdoor track and the smoke took care of that last week    I have a treadmill in my basement that I should have taken advantage of and I didn't.   I have recommitted to do better this week. Now I just need to quit using my exercise bike as a clothes hanger.   When Blake bought it for me they asked him if he wanted the extended warranty and he said we didn't need it because I would use it as a clothes hanger.  I hate it when he is right!
